New Ardnamurchan Peninsula archaeology website
Jan 01, 2017, 14:56
The Ardnamurchan History and Heritage Association is a comparatively recent and already very laudable organisation. Among other things they tend ancient sites surrounds and also fieldwalk and discover more. Hat off. Homepage is here.. http://heritageardnamurchan.co.uk/ I've added the archaeology section to TMA as a link to Greadal Fhinn. Within, if you click, is a list of all known sites, which will be updated as found. Much for the likes of GLADMAN and hopefully myself and others to visit and document.

This looks wonderful, am currently considering this year's early summer holiday (adventure) into the hinterlands of Scotland or Ireland. Kilmartin is a front runner at present but I do love peninsulas ....

Be fascinated to know how you get on planning a Kilmartin trip tjj. Somewhere I'd love to go one day.

Still very much in the day-dreaming phase of planning TSC. Somewhat inspired by the island hopping topic here, would very much like to go back to Scotland soon.

Ardnamurchan Point is a long old drive - even once you have got to Scotland! Kilmartin is the best (along with Avebury and Orkney)

It is worth it precisely b e c a u s e it is a long old drive. The riffraff get no further than the Fort, chuff back and forth to Mallaig, or look across from Balamory and think there's nothing there worth the ferry. The best places are at the end of long and difficult single track roads.
