Bridgend Kerb Cairn near Daviot, Highlands. Magnificent views. Meams Ring Cairn near Kirriemuir, Angus. An unexpected but beautiful site. Hill Of Tillybath, Aberdeenshire. Fantastic vibe at this place. Tordarroch Hillfort, near Farr, Highlands. Sometimes you can feel a sense of history in a place. Pittenderich Cairn, near Tarland, Aberdeenshire. What an absolute belter of a site! Hope everybody has a superb Hogmanay (plenty practise in for me :-) ) and a great 2017! Slainthe!

Same as you, I think every one of the sites has something to say even if its in a bad way.

Scotland had the most memorable sites for me this year; impossible to say which was best since there are so many contributing factors. However: I reckon the obscure Park Knowe 'enclosure' beneath Tinto was the most enigmatic http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/17809/park_knowe.html The superb Ardmarnock, tucked away in a beautiful corner of Argyll, the finest in terms of preservation. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/5739/ardmarnock.html Bute's Carnbaan utterly wondrous. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/5662/carnbaan.html And Creag an Amalaidh had a perfect vibe. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/16569/creag_an_amalaidh.html Also enjoyed seeking out some of Dartmoor's more obscure cists over Easter, of which Grim's Grave was a highlight. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/6873/grims_grave.html Walking highlight was finally getting back to Drygarn Fawr after all these years. It was interesting to compare who I was with who I now am. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/10611/drygarn_fawr.html Happy New Year to everyone

CARL wrote: 2. Giant's Graves on the Isle of Arran - a hard walk up the hill to get to it but excellent views and well worth the effort. Another site with a great sense of location) Did the Giants Graves this year. Previously did them approx 20 years ago prior to the deforestation of the hillside. 2 very different walks as a result Also very worthwhile visiting the dramatic Glenashdale Falls while you're up there.

I can answer this one easily this year, Barpa Langass. Or maybe Paviland Cave, damn.
