Am I having a proper bad case of wishful thinking? I was having a walk near Killiecrankie today. here - http://binged.it/1BRw93d I saw a rock with maybe some cup marks on it? I'm no expert in these things. I thought maybe 2 possible, another 2 maybes and 1 wishful thinking. What do you think? Sorry the video is all over the place :-) https://youtu.be/1e1ufBAO_Qc NN 91061 64289 (about 350m contour) rock is about 100m to the south and downhill from a hut circle (NN 91065 64401)

As always ,it's not fair to be too decisive from pics /vids ,high summer light and dreich weather couldn't be be worse for clarity . A rough guess would be yes . Certainly possible . The rock is typical and there are other marked rocks in the area within less than a couple of miles .e.g. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/15765/ardtulichan.html http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/11655/old_faskally.html http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/4086/strathgarry.html and others I haven't posted .

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it :-) We are just back from an afternoon stroll to the Strathgarry 4 poster. I had a look at a couple of the cup marked rocks at Ardtulichan on the way. Nice area but the weather was pretty rubbish.

As I was a little overexcited about what might be and the rain had finally stopped I went for another look in the evening sun :-) Second clip in the evening sun. https://youtu.be/_X7GtF8KyPA

I've got another one to bore you all with :-) Walking a few days back, we came across the Big O. I don't think it's that old, probably a boundary marker or a fan of Roy Orbison lives near by :-) Rock with a big O on it (NN 96779 65188) http://binged.it/1LuIBIb Some photos. Any ideas? https://500px.com/spaceways (first 5 photos)

Doesn't video help though? Being able to see the surroundings and the viewshed etc gives useful context to throw onto the scales of cup-pondering. Looks like the kind of place that should have them, even if it doesn't.

First thought is millstone roughout. Lack of central cup is suspicious. Also, the type 6 is a rare beast: http://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/archiveDS/archiveDownload?t=arch-352-1/dissemination/pdf/vol_006/6_app_002_007.pdf

Aw shucks, cheers for the praise. I need to get out and do more waving of lights at the old rocks. Oh yes I do. Been too long.
