Im off to Anglesey very soon, just for a couple of days. Any suggestions for best sites to visit with only limited time there? Easy access sites would be best as partner will be hobbling on crutches! I will be driving. Thankyou.

Hi Carol, I'm not a lot of help as I'm going to Anglesey myself for the first time at the end of this month. There is loads of information here on TMA from which I'll be making notes next week - I think I'm right in saying the most famous site is Bryn Celli Ddu.

If you get back before 30th May, I'd be very interested to read about where you went.

There are several excellent CADW sites, all with easy access and mostly close to the road.

Their guide is well worth picking up:

Hiya, done a blog on the MA section! I'll suss out photos next. Thankyou you two for guiding information. Angelsey beautiful, it years since I was last there. The sun shone as we scurried round. Saw a few sites,no where near as much as I'd like, but it was splendid. I wonder tjj if you're there at midsummer solstice cos the sun rises shining into Bryn Celli Dhu burial mound which would be a treat. It's such a perfectly shaped mound. The walk in ( or hobble with much groaning in blokes case) delightful. I had to park him at various gates on travels as he couldn't manage some some sites, and so could wander & soak in in perfect peace! Tried to identify some flowers with wild flowers book but not sure, it may be you can educate me with same tjj. Anyway enjoy yourself, I'm sure you'll love it, it's glorious. Will endeavour to improve blogging & posting - goodness we sound like a right pair of decrepit specimens, broken hips (him), & tech ignorance (me). We're not...really.

Thank you for this Carol, it all sounds pretty wonderful (apart from your other half's disability - hope he mends soon). I've just had a quick read of your blog and will take inspiration from it. Off on Saturday just for a week so I'm afraid I won't be there for the Solstice - will be staying near Bangor at a village called Rachub (in a converted cow barn apparently). Lots to pack in including, hopefully, a visit to Great Orme copper mine. Looking forward to seeing your photos :)

Great stuff Carol, glad it lived up to the billing. You certainly crammed in some sites.

Have a brilliant time.

Rachub is where Blossom lives by the way, unless she's moved.

Thanks TSC, I remember Blossom well but have no idea what she looks like.

It's such a shame I didn't come on here sooner. I could have taken you up the "mountain" in Rachub. It is covered in so many interesting sites. I'm glad you had such a good time here in North Wales. TSC I went back up to Pen today. Another perfect day for it, and this time I managed to see monument 278 that we missed last time. I hope you're well. Let me know if you're up this way anytime :)
