Been going to Cornwall for years, funds permitting; long before I got interested in the stones, so haven't had chance yet to visit our heritage sites there yet. There is however some lovely rock art on a lovely walk down Rocky Valley/ fairy Glen (as I know it ), between Tintagel & Boscastle. The walk is beautiful in itself. I long for Cornwall at times. Being bashed about by the sea at St Agnes is the best thing!

Last year I liked the Gurnard's Head very much (wild cliffs not a pub. But should be a pub name). And perhaps even more so, the Giant's Rock at Zennor. That was excellent with its holes. You will get oodles of peace and quiet at both spots. And while you're at Zennor you can see the mermaid at the church and have something nice to eat and drink at the pub. Luvly.

Not even sponsored by the cornish tourist board. Going back in July, hoorah

King Arthur's Hall for one, a megalithic muddle; the tor's strange shapes for another. Bodmin Moor was so Cornish, it is like another country Cornwall, no wonder they want separation from us... Rillaton Barrow, Daniel Gumb's House, a character I fell in love with. And then there are the churches and saints; at Linkinhorne church where you will find gravestones inscribed by Gumb, a great owl flew from the church chased by crows.

I spent a sunny, warm week, late September in St Ives last year. We didn't have a car so caught the bus to Zennor - walked up Zennor Hill (adders!!) to find the Quoit. The plan was to walk back to St Ives along the coastal path but after meeting two 'walking' couples at a bus stop (both from Yorkshire way) who said it was quite arduous we caught the bus back instead. I bought an illustrated book in St Ives Book Shop of Cornish Folktales* which has the story of the Zennor Mermaid in it - starts "Long, long ago when Neptune still held court deep beneath the tranquil waters of the Sea of Japan ... "
Didn't do too much that time other than visit the Eden Project again on an excursion from St Ives and wander along the clifftops watching the sky change. Came home feeling relaxed and healthy.

PS: Favourite ancient site is Boscawen-Un.

I haven't made it down to Cornwall for many years, and only for parental holidays, not sites, but Port Quin between Padstow and Tintagel was on telly the other day, and looked absolutely lovely. There's bound to be sites nearby. On my list.

I remember now. It's bright yellow isn't it, for goodness sake, hardly forgettable. We parked right next to it. Must be old age affecting my brain.
