King Arthur has his finger firmly on the pulse of the nation. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/solar-eclipse-plunge-tories-darkness-5285624 He said: “The solar eclipse is a portent of change to come in the UK and with it coming so close to the General Election, this change does not bode well for the Tories. “The eclipse is a time for personal growth and development when everything can change. “We hope it changes for the better. I do personally think it is a sign that we will have a new government what with it coming just before the General Election. “It must not just be a change in the government though, it must also be a change in the way the government works for the people of these lands.”

BBC doing almost wall to wall coverage of the eclipse this morning. Carol, my favourite weather reporter is at Callanish. Great shots .... even before eclipse starts.

Good view in Gloucester, almost 90% and clear skies (a bit hazy). My work window faces east, which is handy.

Up on the moors, cold, sunny and clouds scudding across an enormous panorama of dark brown heather. Background noise was the beautiful bubbling sound of the curlews, and also lapwings and skylarks. Before I get too lyrical we could only watch half of it, a perfect half dark moon, as we had to get to an appointment...

I wasn't expecting much, but was very impressed with what I got from Magdalen court whilst out working. slightly lower level light with a pinkish tinge and a star smiled at me, loved it. My mate who was out with me was particularly underwhelmed, but then he was thinking it was going to go dark, even though I said it wouldn't, dozey oik.
