I prefer to remain modest about my unearthly powers. Thank you nonetheless : )

I was reminded of my visit to Lamborough Banks in the Cotswolds ...

My field notes say it was around the Spring Equinox 2011 - it stayed in my memory for being not only being one of the longest barrows I've seen but also covered in wild violets (both white and violet). Quintessentially English.

Not to leave Scotland out I should mention the Ring of Brodgar which really did induce a sense of euphoria. The day had started off shrouded in heavy mist, which cleared into a crystal blue sky and loch. Lots of fragile heather growing within the stone circle.

I'd nominate every site at Kilmartin from Dunadd to Kintraw. Back in early 93 myself and my OH stayed in the area for 10 days one Spring. It was our first holiday together. The entire Kilmartin Valley was bursting with fresh green grass, primroses, bluebells and every sweet wee meadow flower you can imagine. Every site looked beautiful, framed by Nature#s colours and bathed in warm sunshine. It didn't rain once during our stay and it was still a little too early for midges. I had just got my first car, an old MkII Escort in a washed out pale blue. I remember standing at the big stone at Kintraw looking out towards Jura and thinking how brilliant it all was.

Been back through Kilmartin many times since with my OH and our growing son. It's a wonderful place (Highland Pastoral rather than Highland Rugged) and full of wonderful sites but for a brief period in Spring 93 it was simply the most beautiful place on Earth.

Sunhoney on a sunny May afternoon with the sunlight filtering through the surrounding trees dappling the pink granite stones sitting serenely in the long grass waving gently in the soft breeze. An absolutely blissful experience, could have stayed there for hours just listening to the whispering of the trees. Felt very jealous of the people who live in the farm but also very grateful to them for tending to such a beautiful site.
Corrimony's setting is very pretty as well.

Always think the Blue Cairn near Logie Coldstone is beautiful any time of year. Certainly HG and Les said much the same when they visited. I'm sure Theo and Mr G would agree as well. Every place has a unique atmosphere, this is more unique than most. Saying that the top of Knock Hill with nothing around on a New Years Day, its Baltic and hurricane winds, is equally special.
