Baguley Stone, Manchester
Jan 23, 2015, 22:23
On September 15 2015 during an inspection of Baguley Hall, Manchester's oldest building, built 1320 and with remains extant from 10th/11th century I discovered a large, unworked stone situated just outside The Great Hall. Can anyone shed light as to the possible use of this stone. Our patron at Friends of Baguley Hall Michael Wood, the historian and myself have a tentative theory that the stone may have been used as a symbol of authority during A-S Folkmoots, You can see a photo of the stone in the "Baguley Hall 15.9.14 Visit (106 photos) section of our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/friends.baguley.hall
