I am not sure this is up to much, it doesn't look very robust and the range is very limited but when you compare £40 with £500-£1000 (and upwards) it is a real bargain. It might help drive down the price of the more expensive copters so I am all for that. I think the CAA rules are common sense really and the guidance notes suggested by the seller of these devices more or less concur with these anyway.....but there will always be an idiot or two who spoil it for the rest, so watch this space for further restrictions in the future! :)

Could be fun to attach divining rods to one of these gadgets........ Think of the area it could scan.......

Yeah, hope so..perhaps Tony Robinson and Bettany Hughes will be using one on their forthcoming co-presented series Wobbling Through History.

It wouldn't surprise me at all as Bettany likes to keep abreast of the times ;-) http://phys.org/news/2014-11-limestone-venus-years-dug-france.html Large breasts and buttocks have been a symbol of fecundity for thousands of years and Bettany looked rather magnificent striding across Maiden Castle in 'Secret's from the Sky' recently - so wobble on that.

Now wait for the restrictions.
