How much exactly will this proposed 4.5 km deeply-bored tunnel cost?

Do we have volunteers willing to pay for it?

What construction company will be given the contract?

Is there a selection process?

Who chooses the winner?

The boring of this proposed tunnel will destroy the geology and the fracking license won't help things very much.

The tunnel will be constructed for one reason only....
...to make the public pay to view the stones, forget the rest!

I note your cynical explanation and offer you mine:
.... to buy votes from the South West, just before the election!

One difference Nigel...mine wasn't cynical. I truly believe that is the situation.

I signed this a few days ago when it was posted by the Stonehenge Alliance on Facebook. Many others have signed it via FB too - so as irksome as it can sometimes be, FB is a useful means of getting information out there. This link was posted this morning -
http://www.buckinghamtoday.co.uk/news/more-news/groundbreaking-finds-by-stonehenge-team-1-6390477

- along with the words "And the National Trust think it is perfectly alright to locate and entrance and infrastructure to a short tunnel nearby and within the Stonehenge World Heritage Site."

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for the link. My wife and I have both signed it.

Regards,
TE.
