Winter Solstice Greetings
Dec 21, 2013, 13:08
Seems an appropriate time to say 'thanks' to everyone who posts here - and to Mr Cope and the lads - for keeping this site going. Hey, perhaps we are making a difference?

If your 2013 wasn't the best... and there's a pretty good chance, from my experience.... here's hoping 2014 gathers it up and drop kicks it back whence it came. Yeah, give it all she's got, Scotty. I'm in the mood to turn that corner.

Winter Solstice Greetings from me too. 2013 was the year I finally visited Callanish after holding it in my imagination for some years. Also saw a golden eagle for the first and probably only time - which was fabulous.

I am looking forward to 2014 in a particularly grateful frame of mind. A few months back I became rather unwell and was told by specialists I probably had cancer. Because of where it was located I was also told it was inoperable. Lots people rallied round, many of whom I have only met online, sending me healing 'vibes'. This week I received a letter from the specialist to say that my recent CT scan had shown a definite improvement, it was therefore concluded the problem was benign and my body was healing itself. I'm sharing this personal bit of information here as being in such a situation makes you realise what is important and what is not. Valuing each and every day is what got me through ... along with the kindness of others.

All the best to everyone! Miracles do happen - even at Christmas.

June xx

The chamber at Newgrange was lit up by the sun this morning, the first time since 2007. Happy solstice to all.

That is good news. I'd like to think you subconsciously picked up some 'healing vibes' from the Tursachan, too.

Don't say you were inside? That would be too much.

The weather's been absolutely appalling down here in the south-east of England but happy to take the hit if some have experienced wonders like that.

On the contrary Gladman, I was quite well when I made the trip. Am happy to put it all behind me now and looking forward to next year's little adventures.

PS: Thank you and Rhiannon for your kind comments.
