This is a favourite of mine...it falls into the category of allowing ones mind to drift over the possibilities when people first began to build with stone monuments in the landscape.. Making a place in space..... S.P.A.C.E.S (Strumble-Preseli Ancient Communities and Environment Study http://www.landscape-perception.com/art_and_archaeology/ Edit; There it was the morning and its vanished this afternoon ;)

May I humbly suggest my own blog - http://standingstones.tv ? It's mainly centred around my film 'Standing with Stones' but I've been posting there for about 20 months now and seem to have managed to acquire some fascinating stuff from all over. Even I was amazed to see the amount I've accumulated in the time when I looked at it the other day ... Have a nice day. Michael

rockartuk wrote: Believe it or not... there's even a British Rock Art Blog: http://rockartuk.wordpress.com/ That is a breath of fresh air - though I reject the comment under the beautiful Loch Tay Aura photos as it possibly being an off-road motor bike. Having seen a photograph of the 'Brocken spectre' at Arthur's Seat on the Salisbury Crags (by Edinburgh for non-Scottish readers) - they are similar. A great blog, with some great links.

On a personal note, I'd like to thank lithop (who hosts Avebury: A Present From The Past) for allowing me to use stuff there that is his. As he so rightly says, "...the internet is all about sharing information & knowledge..." With that in mind, if anyone has anything on Avebury they'd like to share with a wider audience let me know and I'll bung it up (with appropriate credits of course).

Link below http://www.geologyrocks.co.uk/ Very useful website for asking questions about rock types, natural formations etc. Helped me understand a few interesting shapes I've come across in the field. The natives are by and large friendly :-)
