"Drought unearths treasure trove of ancient monuments". Headline from Daily Post 8 August 2006. (http://snipurl.com/upl7). I would be interested to know more about the Roman road around Corwen. Can anyone help?

'Allo IAman, people* can get a bit iffy about the romans aound these parts sometimes, but you never know. As long as it casts the Nasty Romans in a bad light, and the Brave Indigenes in a good light, then why not?

Ahem. Interesting. I'd wondered about parch marks earlier this summer.

* Well I dunno about the rest of you, but I know I do...

The finds are not exclusively Roman. If you look at the whole newspaper article then there are other references as well. And there is a link somewhere in this website to the BBC website which displays some of the aerial photos including items of neolithic interest. Unfortunately I am none the wiser about the newly discovered Roman road at Corwen and I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of further information or maybe a forum which discusses such Roman matters.

Indeed, some interesting thoughts about the bronze age. Hopefully info may come to light regarding BA settlements in Wales. I understand they're a bit thin on the ground, though that might only be in upland areas.

I think the channel 4 time team forum is well versed in suchlike, you could try asking there:

Good luck in your search.
