Its a nice camera, before you buy though check what lens selection they have for the four thirds system that Olympus digital SLR's use. Its a totally newly designed system and thrid party manufacturers are not making any lenses for it as far as I know, your options to go low cost or have a large selection is limited. Your stuck with what Olympus make for this camera and if they dump the four thirds system in the future or pull out of the SLR market you could be stuck with what you've got.

People have been talking about the possible death of Nikon in the future because of the dominance of Canon so its not such a remote possibility.

Apart from that, if you get what you need now with the two lens package, then you dont necessarily need to worry unless you get more serious about it in the future.

Thanks for the advice Ken, it does seem a very tricky choice, i am looking at about 4 cameras, still not 100% sure, i liked the spec on the E500 and i thought the twin lens kit would be enough for me for a while..still looking though, probably won't buy till january anyway, sales etc..

Although i do mostly rock art, i also do standing stones, circles etc...but i am thinking about doing more nature shots..so again that is something else to take into account.

cheers
