Woodhenge
Sep 07, 2005, 17:38
A full-scale replica of Woodhenge (made of wood ;-) is being constructed for a TV special to be shown later in the year. From photos received this afternoon the replica already looks pretty impressive. The new Woodhenge will only stand for a few weeks while filming is carried out and then it'll be pulled down.

If I can get permission from the photographer I'll post further details.

Would be good to see what they make of it, Woodhenge is 1 of those sites that just plants a big '?' in mi noggin!

Can't wait for the TV series when they create a scale model of Avebury using authentic Neolithic tools. It'll keep the schedulers busy for a while anyway ;-)

That sounds exciting! Is it anything at all to do with the Channel 5 programme earlier this year where they recreated Stonehenge in polystyrene?

Is it part of the telly programme you mentioned?
The one they were making with Time Team about the dig at Durrington walls, regarding the sites associated with the river?

TE.
