Anybody see that Time Team thing in the past 10 days? It featured Callanish and the Orkneys. What I was really interested in was the Brochs - an underground chamber allegedly there for contacting the underworld. That looked really interesting, the chamber itself like an acoustic amplifier amplifying ... what? It's funny how the underground gets associated with supernatural beings or worlds, there seems to be something archetypal about it which evidently has its roots far in prehistory.
