Ancient Cornish Trackway??
Feb 28, 2005, 15:00
Hello, it is mentioned that an ancient trackway runs past the three henges in Cornwall: Castilly Henge, Castlewich Henge and Stripple Stones. Has anyone any further information on this or know where I could find some. Thank You.

Not done a websearch yet, but the first book I look in mentions an extensively quarried greenstone outcrop on Balstone Down 1/4 mile N of Castlewitch makes a likely stop on a traderoute.

http://www.lowernetherton.co.uk/attractions/stripple1.html showing "A track up to Hawk's Tor, between the Trippet and the Stripple Stones" with details at http://www.lowernetherton.co.uk/attractions/stripple.html#1.
Or is someone confused with The Sweet Track ??

I have not ever come across any mention of such a track. Where did you find details of it?
There is no obvious route between the three sites, no ridge to follow, no valley to follow just lots of cutting cross undulating Cornwall......
