A quick one, while he's away
Apr 14, 2004, 10:38
During my whistle stop tour of CR, I didnt get the chance to check out the site layout fully and didnt have the presence of mind to take a compass. Doh! While I was there, i took a brief photo from the southern side, facing Blencathra, and behind me (roughly) was a dry stone wall with a public footpath behind it with a little sign post. Crouched against the wall, just below the sign was a stone, about 3' high - is this an outlier and part of the monument or just another rock ?

It's a good question - I've always presumed it is an outlier too but never bothered (or been unable) to find out.
Still, a pastoralist walk downhill from there is a glorious experience.
