Further to a thread a while back about polishing marks. I have found the quote I was looking for. Antiquity Vol. XXXII No. 128 p237 The Excavations of the WKLB 1955-6 Stuart Piggott. "An incidental discovery of some interest was that on more than one of the chamber uprights, and on the southern of the three blocking-stones, were polished areas where stone or flint axe-blades had been ground or resharpened." http://web.ukonline.co.uk/megalithics/england/w_kennet/weknprs3.htm This chamber? Looks like a circular polishing mark to me, I'll check it our next time I'm up there, PeteG

Keith uses an 8mm lens to create them! Sigh, wish I could afford one... PeteG

I've seen these kind of spherical panorama's before but how do they do them Pete? The Methods page on their site mentions the equipment but not how they take the pictures with no tripod showing and the whole scene evenly lit, it's almost like it was taken in one shot - very clever. Also I like the attention to detail in their GPS references and diameters measurements, it beats my 'about 9 metres' kind of estimates ;-) -Chris

Ha! it's not a standard tripod. Bloody clever innit? Imagine a camera on a tripod but projected outwards and the whole rig is moved around the axis of the camera. Of course Photoshop cleans up the overlapping bits PeteG (Ps Got a spare 8mm lens anywhere?)

I've got a 35mm lens and a glass cutter if that's any use to you. I mean how hard can it be to take 27mm off? ;o)
