"Aubrey's" Cove

Just read the misc item you posted Rhiannon. It'd fit nicely with the Beckhampton Avenue and Longstone Cove thang too wouldn't it?

I have a panorama of the site for an Astronomy prog I'm working on. From this point the moon rises out of the sanctuary at its standstill point.

(better late than never, sorry for the delayed reply Moth)

er yes, it would fit in with the other coves.

I do find it difficult trying to sort out the relative chronology of all the sites at Avebury but as I understand it the coves are the earliest stones. And older than the banks and ditches? But not earlier than the origins of the Sanctuary or the Beckhampton longbarrow. Hmm I should find a run-down of the dates.

Pete G - is there anything about Avebury this man does not know? I think not.

I know what you mean, it'd be easy to get demoralised wouldn't it?

I reckon I'd know a fair amount if it was on my doorstep, but Pete really takes it a step or 3 further!!!!
