Re-classify?
Nov 05, 2003, 15:04
Just to say that I think it would be good to re-classify Scutchamer Knob to something other than 'Ancient Settlement / Settlement / Misc. Earthwork'. Maybe to Mound or Moot Point. Or maybe this is a 'moot point'.....

Welcome in!!!

Don't know the place I'm afraid, but 'Moot Point' isn't an available classification at the mo - never come across it before - is it commonly used 'down your way'?

The 'artificial mound' classification usually seems to signify summat bigger than I believe this place was/is.

Which is I suspect why it's got 'Misc earthwork' stuck on it.

Thanks BG but I knew what it meant, but had never come across it as part of a term for summat that'd interest us lot!!!

loads of barrows round here (Perthshire) are known as Moot Hills Moth. surely you've come across some of them!

Moot Hills Andy? Yeah, I believe I've come across such a term!

The term WF used was 'Moot Point' and it seems to be a different kinda manmade thingy that I hadn't come across before.

PS Have you contacted the Moulin to warn them of the forthcoming pudding frenzy?
