I like Klimt! I was thinking of some pictures to hang where I 've just decorated and found this. Do you think those are standing stomes at the bottom of the painting? If so where is Berghang and has anyone been there? http://www.postershop.co.uk/Klimt-Gustav/Klimt-Gustav-Berghang-2302546.html |

Berghang is German for mountain slope. The image looks like that of a steep hill or mountain side. I know not of any where called Berghang - so I guess that picture could be of anywhere! Maybe someone can suggest some German stone sites, as they certainly do look like stones. (i'm assuming Klimt is German and that the painting is a scene in Germany) |

I bloody love klimt me! There's something about his small dotty patterns and concentric circles that has a lot in common with rock art. It would make complete sense to me that these are stones. Unfortunately don't know much about his stuff, I feel a websearch coming up... .o0O0o.

I love him. This is probably my favourite picture in the world: http://www.cs.virginia.edu/~dbi9m/klimt/pix/Women/pHygieia.jpg

Indeed I recommend the poster site to you - it's got loads of his stuff on there. I particularly love the forest prints. He is definately "earthy"! And from what you say it does all seem to come together.

All I can suggest is a look at http://www.hgstump.de he has a very good site with German and British circles and standing stones.
