After reading all the -appropriateness- bullshit I went and looked at your paintings - very cool - they, uh, "rock"... Especially dug the Rollright Stones, you nailed the energy straight to the wall! Thanks for the shot of vibe, especially grateful as a trip there is hard to swing from USA -5-

Well, many thanks, Five, it's nice to hear something postive and encouraging on this msg board after all Rog's negative, shite-stirring, needling and bad vibes. The Rollrights have a special significance for me and I visit them often. For me they have a rhythmic, bobbing, circular energy which feels like a merry-go-round, but is entirely calming and focused. Like my mate, baza, I don't really do the spiritual thang, so the feeling I have is projected from within me. I love the 'human-scale' of the circle, I love the knarled appearance of each stone which is quite unique and most of all I love the landscape in which they sit. Thanks again, 5, for being nice. It's easy really, isn't it! J x PS: Whereabouts in the US of A are you? I spent a few years their as a child. Very weird place! (1967, Berkeley, Ca.; 1977, Davis, Ca.)

Indeed! I have made the very grown-up decision not to talk to you.

For what it's worth I think Jane is right to ignore you. I'll be doing the same until I see something worthwhile come from you. I'd encourage others to do the same if they are as irritated as I am. Adieu! Kammer

I'm in Seattle, Washington, moved here from the Middle Of Nowhere, Vermont... There's more in the way of big rocks in VT, but I needed the city for all the musicking I do and WA is a beautiful state (the northwest in general)... This weekend we're playing in Colorado at some way-out freakfest in the desert, woo-woo! Keep on -5-

In my last job, I had to come to Seattle sometimes. Wa. is a very beautiful place indeed: Mt Rainier and the San Juan Islands, very nice! Eating fish and chips outside under blankets at 'Ray's'.... How on earth did you come to be interested in a very specialist branch of predominently western European archaeology, 5? And have you been to the UK or Ireland recently and seen any of the stuff on here? J x

It's part of a larger interest... A bit complicated. Musicians / artists channel energy, often without thought to what that energy might be or what it might represent or how it might affect anyone else who runs into it. I found that those musicians I most respected (Coltrane, Hendrix, Cope, many others) were (at least semi-)consciously channelling particular things, with respect to their audience and the world/multiverse/etc. I also found that all places (and people - maybe "all events in space-time" is a good way to put it) have energy, and that it could be expressed or at least implied through my fingers and guitar if I got my brain out of the way. Then it's a question of where I'm going to be, who or what I'm going to be expressing. I'm going to be expressing something no matter where I am - that's what I do - so I try to be a fairly pure conduit so far as my particular body, mind, and society will allow it. I also try to place my antenna where something especially charged might come through it, when the opportunity presents - not so often as I'd like, since I only got this far in my thinking around the time I moved west 2 years ago - it's been a full coupla years! Cope's lyrics and concepts helped point out the megaliths, as did various friends, shamen, bits of asscociated reading and chance encounters. I have not been able to visit Europe - yet. When I'm ready (properly in tune, I suppose) I'll find my way. I have checked out some natural energies (Devil's Tower) and some manmade ones (Ohio serpent mound) but the Devil's Tower tape is missing (weird place, maybe just as well) and I chose not to play music at the snake.
