do you not think the Irish seem to have a gift for creating distinctive kitschy scenes? I mean that in the best possible way, like you think of Japanese style being 'cutesy' but well-hard at the same time (I've lost you all now).

I was in a cemetery in Kerry once (looking at some ogham and a holed stone) and it had some outrageous gravestones with photos and plastic flowers, glass domes and colourful chippings.

But that roundabout 4W, that takes the biscuit. You must have been floored by it at the time.
