So there I was at about midnight on Friday, holed up writing my July review when I hear the strains of Os Mutantes fantastic fuzz/latin tune A Mehna Menina exuding from the idiot box!
Well Awlright goes I..until I look up and notice it's on a fucking car advert. OH NO! How many more great psyche tunes are going to be trivialised in such a manner (see also I See The Rain)? If I hear the wankers behind me at work singing it I swear I'll.......well I just won't be held responsible...
Don't get me wrong, I'm not elitist or superior - on the contrary, I love sharing, introducing and discussing great bands & tunes with likeminded and the curious - I'ts just there's a time and a place right?
What does any one else think - has the world gone mad?
Does anyone else love the Mutantes? (silly question!)
