I vaguely remember that show from my early childhood. Granada TV used to do a lot of those, didn't they? Think it was them who produced the Marc Bolan ones in '77 as well.
Speaking of bands who had their own TV shows, does anyone remember the Moondogs? They were this kind of sub-Undertones skinny-tie power pop type band who had a show called "Moondogs Matinee" in the early 80s, but although they performed a lot of their own songs on the programme they were never allowed to speak as they were from Derry and Granada thought their accents would be incomprehensible to other UK viewers. Ah, those pre-PC days...

The Moondogs, yeah. Got all four of their singles while going through my 'irish punk/new wave bands' phase! One came with a limited editon Moondogs neckerchief, not a cool item of clothing!
They weren't the Undertones, but not bad at all.
