Subject: Seize The Day - Please Vote for Us to Win - We have made it into the BBC Radio 3 World Music Audience Awards FINALS Date: Fri, 31 Jan 2003 22:43:15 -0000 PLEASE FORWARD ------------------------------- Dear Friends, Thanks to the many votes put forward by you all in the first round of voting, we are delighted to announce Seize The Day have made it into the top four of the eighty bands originally nominated for the BBC Radio 3 World Music Audience Awards. Now we're asking our friends and activist-networks to put the word out for us everywhere, and vote one more time - If we win the award, it will show just how huge the movement for change has become, and in turn gain more exposure for our campaigns. So please follow this link to the BBC Radio 3 web-site and click on REGISTER in order to vote for Seize The Day. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/world/awards2003/audienceaward.shtml To vote in the final round they ask you to register with the BBCi, which involves making up a username and password and giving any email address - it takes 10 seconds, then you can vote! ...and PLEASE forward voting request to friends, family, cats parent and everyone you have ever met or are about to meet. i heard they got banned for soliciting support based on their politcal perspective rather than their musical talent - i wouldn't have voted for 'em unless cooki ehad brought it up but i did compare them to the other competitors before voting. the organiser/editor of the awards was on the radio saying it doesn't count that their politcal life is inexstricably linked with their music. anyway bolox it is, just 'cos they got a radical stance i reckon

Nah it's good to get as much cross over going for the folks who stay resolutely in one forum. Me I just flit like a butterfly sticking my opinions into any interesting looking conversation :) | |||

Bands are always using nefarious ways to get around these online voting shennanigans - Belle & bloody Sabastian, anyone? Or, currently, AntiHero. The only reason they picked up on this one was the content.
