https://www.facebook.com/share/p/wNx6ZGUipU1WXJi6/?mibextid=2JQ9oc Hope you're all well. I love how much vitality he brought to a group, and scene, that would have no doubt gotten lost up its prog fusion jacksy several years earlier if not for his presence. He always seemed like one of the most earnest and optimistic people in the industry, even in the last ten years of his life when he was battling a gouty, cancerous body that refused to do what it was told. RIP it up and start again! sick on my journey, my dreams go wandering on this withered field Matsuo Basho, 1694

Farewell great and good man… the centrepiece of the maelstrom I saw at Friars Aylesbury in ‘73 that will forever remain in my memory. RIP and bless you

Damn damn damn Another legend has passed on, and the wod is a little bit sadder today. I've listened to his albums with Can countless times, and yet every single note becomes a new adventure as it hits my brain. If Voyager's Golden Record really wanted to send a message to outer space, they should have simply put Halleluwah on a single-sided disc and thrown in some psilocybin spores for extra points. Dear Damo, I hope you are at peace now. Thank you for the music.

Very sad to hear this, RIP Damo, may your wanderings ever continue. Of all the Can members, he seems to me the one that kept that restless experimental spirit alive the most, especially in his later years. An inspiration to us all.

Oh, no. What a loss. I never thought this day might come. Active and brilliant to the end (just check out that incredible album he did recently with Mugstar). I'll never forget the couple of times I saw him live, including with cul de sac at the Knitting Factory (?), where my wife and I shared big sweaty hugs with him! What love, what energy! The much anticipated official Can release, Live in Paris 1973 will be a poignantly-timed tribute when it comes out later this month on the 23rd. A brilliant concert that showcases the Damo-era at its most wigged out and inspired. Damn. "The handle that was brass, is now brass evil The rock that was an egg, is in wrong cradle The hand that cradles the rock, makes egg gooey I am Damo Suzuki"
