Passed away on Jan 2, aged 76. The first five ADII albums are among the greatest music on earth.

Saw him first time around 1986 with Embryo - there was this guy with his flamenco guitar. Only realized later during the concert this was the legendary Amon Düül founder. After several gigs with Embryo I caught his solo gig at Burg Herzberg festival under the moniker "Mr. Amon Düül". Luckily there were several Düül reunions - first one still rather shaky in 1995, then in better shape and sound from 2002 onwards. Last gig I caught was in 2019 - a really good one, after building up tension on stage for a full hour of soundcheck chaos. And now the fucking corona bug has caught him - when everybody thought it was almost over. Just as with David Crosby..

I saw AD2 at Progeny 2 at the London Astoria in 2004. Really poorly attended, probably only about 50 of us in the audience, but they were great. They kicked off with Eye Shaking King, a great way to start.
