I thought it was going to be hidden forever. Or: how a simple rural image from a Victorian photo album entitled "Reminiscences of a visit to Shaftesbury, Whitsuntide 1892" was transmuted via Rock Music into something so wildly powerful and enigmatic that even now, knowing its provenance, it seems...even more powerful and enigmatic. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-67336495.amp

Wow. What a cool discovery...thanks for sharing man. Next is to find the precise location of the half-demolished house. Truly, the greatest album art ever.

A friend pointed it out to me last year. It's now a Tesco Petrol Station at Camden St, Hockley, Birmingham B18 7BH. The Tesco sign runs perpendicular to the demolished wall, where the tower block still looms in the distance: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Tesco+Petrol+Station/@52.4861926,-1.9184409,3a,75y,226.63h,89.89t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1skbCbl9B5VzpGvHP68BqsNw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!4m11!1m2!2m1!1stESCO+Ladywood+Middleway,+Birmingham,+UK!3m7!1s0x4870bce562c41163:0x335197dddb572285!8m2!3d52.4862568!4d-1.918812!10e5!15sCih0RVNDTyBMYWR5d29vZCBNaWRkbGV3YXksIEJpcm1pbmdoYW0sIFVLIgOIAQGSAQtnYXNfc3RhdGlvbuABAA!16s%2Fg%2F11c43z8v3f?entry=ttu

Ha ha, weird. Used to drive past there daily for a few years. Who'd have thought the cover image was shot nearby

Very cool. My wife, who is a much bigger Led Head than I, stumbled upon the Physical Graffiti building in NYC quite by accident when she was there on a trip. Also we went to the Giant's Causeway when travelling around Northern Ireland years before. The LP makes it seem so much bigger than it actually is in person.

Next is to find the bar on the cover of In Through the Outdoor. Seth Man?
