If it doesnt still look like "Boys From The Blackstuff", I'm not interested. "Shake 'Ands!" I was at the premiere of his earlier movie Big Gold Dream which was excellent (Tam Dean Burn during the post movie discussion: "it was the gig that inspired us, not a record.") He was referring to The Clash / Subway Sect / Slits gig (White Riot Tour) at Edinburgh Playhouse on 7 May 1977. I think he was particularly praising the Sect (a huge influence on the FAST Product / Postcard groups) but I'm sure all were great.

This purports to be the full BGD movie.: https://youtu.be/8M5aOKj3UQI?si=NtexnWcFAdLYhOIj The quality is so poor on this copy of the BFTBS Shake Ands clip its positively haunted. https://youtu.be/LSAOUZ2BkZI?si=RXu5DR4xn7TJfeKY The Green Man pub in Liverpool where it was filmed, has of course, with the rest of the neighborhood, been demolished, according to a YT commenter. These are the Council wankers who demolished the Cavern in Matthew Street, and then had to rebuild it across the road when Beatle-mania proved not to be a flash in the pan, but rather a tourist attracting part of history. Like all City Councils since the War, barbarians. Look at the number of nostalgia websites devoted to long-gone music venues in the UK. Or play The Photos "Barbarellas" (1980, so prescient!) and weep for your youth. https://youtu.be/J9QtDKk_WSM?si=M4Za8NKqcZztHjQL So many middle-class Anglos arrived in Edinburgh City Centre since the 80's/90's, and then complained about the noise from music venues and pubs. Like, what did they expect?! They got their way though, with either closures, or music/drink licensing hours restrictions. Bastards. Another quote from Yosser, I think when he's at confession: "I'm desperate father" "Call me Dan" "I'm desperate, Dan."!
