Yes, I prefer the original mix too (it's how I first got to know the album as a thirteen year old!). There's also an earlier remix in the 'Boxed' set of 1976 which I like, aside from the lovely bass solo near the end of Part One being mixed too low for my liking.

Glad you're digging the PSB mix of Paul Weller's latest, by the way. And I share your opinion of 'Pool It' too: decent songs, awful production.
