He also used to moderate a Syd Barrett forum on Yahoo (and later Facebook) which I left after he posted a tasteless and unsolicited comment about how you should never date a "chick" with any history of mental illness - thereby potentially relegating an eighth of the population to the proverbial dustbin. This from the admin of a group that celebrates Syd Barrett of all people. He is a massive cock. Having said that, I'd still like that Elevators performance to be released for purely musical reasons.

I also had minor run-ins with Kiloh Smith when writing my Texas Psychedelia book, and heard first-hand accounts from musicians I interviewed about his underhand ways. To top it off, he posted a negative "review" of my book on Amazon that's delusionally self-serving, disingenously paranoid and bordering on libellous.

Kiloh used to be a major figure behind the Elevators CD club (I think that's what it was called) that would trade CD-Rs of rare material and mint LP rips. Back before most of this came out officially, his group perhaps served a useful purpose in cutting out the bootleggers, etc. Somewhere along the way, though, he decided this service made him an "expert" on all things Elevators. I know he also had a beef with Patrick the Lama, the late psychedelic music historian / record collector.

Apparently Patrick and Mike were good friends, so you can imagine how the latter would have felt on reading that.
