"The version of ‘Hanging Out And Hung Up On The Line’ now sounds like a heavy, drag racer conversion of 'Elevation' by The 13th Floor Elevators." what is this 'Elevation' song? Did they mean 'Levitation'?

Didn't realize it had been thirty years. I got it on cassette that summer in the US, in between freshman and sophomore years of high school. Bought it due to David Fricke's enthusiastic review in Rolling Stone. Peggy Suicide was the first Cope I heard - and one of the first albums for me that took a while to make "sense." Also one of those albums where the liner notes were an essential part of the experience. Still consider the cassette version to be the best, as it came with "Uptight" and slightly longer edits of "Safesurfer" and "Drive, She Said." Thanks, Cope; it's been a trip!

I got it that same summer, also on cassette, and also my first Cope album. The beginning of a 30 year trip. It's been quite a ride - a few bumps in the road and detours that didn't totally grab me, but I'm still here. Peggy sounded pretty rough around the edges to my 17-year-old ears used to slick '80s productions. Weird to think because listening now it sounds pretty slick by Cope standards. I still love it. That run of albums (Peggy/Jehovahkill/Autogeddon) was spectacular and a really exciting time. Happy birthday Peg.

As did the original vinyl EDIT: I've never understood why the Deluxe version wasn't the full 19 songs.
