Two weeks' worth...

Northwest – I & II. These guys are a bit of a find, like a neo-classical combo of Kate Bush and Talk Talk. Beautiful voice, wonderful orchestration, arty with a capital ‘A’… https://thisisnorthwest.bandcamp.com/album/ii

Antoni Maiovvi & ANTA – Church Of The Second Sun. Heavy, bashing you over the head prog/synth soundtrack stuff, good

Plankton Wat – Future Times. Bloke from Eternal Tapestry, fuzzy psych Americana plus added 70s-style electronica, has its moments.

Onsegen Ensemble – Fear. Yet another Finnish space/prog/avant rock crew of note, good: https://onsegenensemble.bandcamp.com/album/fear

Domenique Dumont – People On Sunday

Hawkwind – Live 1976. A couple of soundboards from Oxford and Dunstable, evocative stuff

David Bowie – Metrobolist. So, the drums are still too prominent on the ‘title track’ and there’s a bit of unnecessary vocalising on ‘Black Country Rock’, but overall, this is a terrific sounding remaster from Tony “I’m just going to make my bass a little louder…” Visconti

Black Sabbath – Vol 4. Upcoming 2021 remaster, also sounds good, though ‘Snowblind’ is never punchy enough for me

Iron Butterfly – Live / Metamorphosis

MC5 – Back In The USA / High Time. I had never heard these before. Err, am I allowed to say “patchy”?

Giles, Giles & Fripp – The Brondesbury Tapes. Some terrific stuff on this, basically recordings made just before the group morphed into King Crimson, such as: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq4skTo7vSk

VA – Pyramid Edits

VA – Living On The Hill (CD 1)

Time Of No Reply – Nick Drake
Unqualified (45) – Ikebe Shakedown
Devil's Juice (EP) – Interstella Funk
KG – King Gizzard & the Wizard Lizard
Straight Songs Of Sorrow – Mark Lanegan
Bunny Lee Presents Dubbing In The Front Yard & Conflict Dub
McCartney III – Paul McCartney
Escape – Moon Duo

Jambinai - A Hermitage or loads of South korean symbols. Still enjoy returning to this post rock fare

Alber Jupiter - We are floating in space. More top notch psych rock. Duo with the bass player doing a lot more with pedals etc

Jungle Brothers - Raw Deluxe

Joseph soundtrack from 74. Bit of a guilty pleasure, but grew up with it in the house.

Elephant9 - Silver Mountain. Not much to dislike from these scando fusion peeps

Electric Wizard - Come my Fanatics. Wasn't so keen. Heavier version of Sabbath but not as good

Einsturzende Neubauten - Halber Mensch

Edward Penfold - Caulkhead. Very much a lofi Syd Barrett vibe which works for me

Eddie Hazel - Game, Dames and Guitar Thangs. Guitarist from George Clinton projects. Very much doing similar things here which i quite enjoyed

Damaged Bug - Bug on Yonkers
Guy from Oh Sees does some creditable covers of Michael Yonkers stuff. Made me dig out my old sub pop reissue of Micro Miniature Love CD, which I haven't played in far too long. https://damagedbug.bandcamp.com/album/bug-on-yonkers

Hawkwind - Greasy Truckers 2CD
The versions of 'Born to Go' and 'Brainstorm' on this is brutal in all the best ways. Had it on repeat for several hours just soaking it up whilst pressie wrapping.

Hawkwind - Space Ritual/ 50th Anniversary Live/ 1999 Party
Think in these 'lockdowns' I'd be lost without Hawkwind. Always cheer me up.

The Green Child - Shimmering Basset
Still enjoying this. Nice synth pop, nothing original, but well executed.

Stooges - Raw Power

Magazine - Second Hand Daylight

Cope - Followers Of St.Julian

Virginia Wing - Maximum Joy

Hey Colossus - Dances/Curses
Good stuff as ever. Lanegan appears on track The Mirror.

Coil - Musick Vol 1+2, Gold is the Metal, Horse Rotorvator.

V/A - Really Bad Music for Really Bad People:
This is stupidly enjoyable, esp if you love The Cramps. Some fun and innovative cover versions, esp. track 5.

I got roped into a school 'musical' of this in Junior school when everyone was doing the same I guess. Needless to say, if I never heard it again it would be too soon :)
