Arrived yesterday, and what a delightful little package (ooh err) it is too.
I think Cherry Red may well be the best reissue label out there right now!

Lovely! In my opinion the best BBD album! The opener just sets me off!

It's (hushed tones) a better Ziggy Stardust type album than Ziggy Stardust. Runs for cover.
But seriously it's one of those rare things, a debut album that deals with the traditional yearning for success BUT also premature disillusionment with the industry at the same time.

Wow! Is that the single version (which I have not heard) or an out-take? And does it have the same birds at the start that both Pink Floyd and Yoko Ono used?

With all due respect to the mighty Seth, that may just be the most apposite summary of an unsung album I've ever read in these hallowed pages. You have nailed it.

The single version is on Bill Nelson's 'The Practice of Everyday Life' box set (which I have) but only runs to 6:51. It is, of course, wonderful. This one is clearly either a different, or longer, take. I can hold back no more - the deluxe edition is ordered!

It's the same track as the album but on Disc 2's new stereo remix. The original was probably faded early for space constraints, but this is clearly the full version. Spoiler - the original faded just as it's starting to get really sublime.
The 7" version is on here too with Teenage Archangel, and the band's original Decca audition.

Thanks, though to be fair, it was Seth's review that clinched my curiosity after Julian's initially piqued it.
