That's Why God Made The Radio – The Beach Boys OK, it could be said that this is The Beach Boys by numbers, but you know...I'm comfortable with that. It's a lovely day, you put this on and...yeah...nice! Pictures Of Purple People – Marc Bolan The Slider – T.Rex POPP is a compilation that came with the book of the same name and consists of early solo recordings and some John's Children numbers. The Devil You & Me – The Notwist Having really fallen for their 2014 album Close To The Glass of late, I thought I would go back to this one, too. Not as great as that or the wonderful Neon Golden which preceded this. Still there are some numbers here, not least Hands On Us which is right up there with their finest moments. Also... The Original Sound Of Sheffield '83/'87 – Cabaret Voltaire Evil Spirits – The Damned Desitively Bonnaroo – Dr John Beautiful Rewind – Four Tet Live At The Royal Albert Hall 1974 – Bryan Ferry World Music – Goat Further – Richard Hawley Closer – Joy Division Thuban – Lay Llamas Great Balls Of Fire (Compilation) – Jerry Lee Lewis Rainford – Lee Perry Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel Sound Of Confusion – Spacemen 3 Till The End Of The Night - The Stooges Wraith – Teeth Of The Sea

The Cravats - Hoorahland Really enjoying the new Cravats album, Jello even rocks up on one track. It amazes me that many reformed bands of my youth still manage to turn out a solid record, some (the Membranes in particular) seem to be producing as far as I'm concerned, the best work of their careers. https://thecravats.bandcamp.com/album/hoorahland ADULT. - Perception is;as;of Deception Turning out to be a current fav. A little more 90's EDM than much of their earlier stuff, but as I loved the likes of Front Line Assembly and Nitzer Ebb, so that's all good. https://adultmusic.bandcamp.com/album/perception-is-as-of-deception Baxter Dury - The Night Chancers Another solid intelligent pop record from Baxter https://heavenlyrecordings.com/new-music-and-album-announcement-baxter-dury-the-night-chancers/ The Chats - High Risk Behaviour No brain 3 chord punk fun from Aussie nippers. I love the Aussie bands current embracing of shit haircuts. Fav tracks = Pub Feed , Drunk and Disorderly and 5473. https://thechatslovebeer.bandcamp.com/ Ty Segall - Pig Man Lives Volume 1 Great selection of demos etc. https://tysegall.bandcamp.com/album/pig-man-lives-volume-1 Pictish Trail - Thumb World Not enjoying this as much as the other week, but still not all bad. Other stuff Bowie - Scary Monsters Dope - Black Math Carter Tutti Void - Triumvirate Eaters - Eaters Hawkwind - All Aboard The Skylark Linval Thompson & The Revolutionaries - Negrea Love Dub; Outlaw Dub Tones on Tail - Everything Prettiest Eyes - Pools Killing Joke - The Unperverted Pantomime Keep well and stay safe.x

Attraktors – s/t. New age synth devotionals from South Korea, nice… https://tenggerbbib.bandcamp.com/album/nomad-pre-order Slift – Ummon Jon Brooks – How To Get To Spring Blown Out – Sun Rot Hawkwind – Hall Of The Mountain Grill Slint – Breadcrumb Trail. Thanks to Monganaut for the prompt, a fantastic documentary on this hugely influential and rather unusual band… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsRpS6XGiOs

Thanks to Monganaut for the prompt, a fantastic documentary on this hugely influential and rather unusual band… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsRpS6XGiOs I really enjoyed that docu. I didn't know a whole lot about them, though I remember owning their first album Tweeze, and much later (cos of Albini/Shellac) found Spiderland, which seemed like a whole different band. Had no idea hey were so querky, daft and off the wall, as you expect music like this to be a bunch of self aware chin stokers. Gotta say tho, still prefer The For Carnation album over and above Slints stuff (to which mucho thanks to Keith A for introducing it to me). Till viewing the film, I had no idea that they (well most of Slint) went on to to back Will Oldham and I suppose become Palace Brothers Et Al. Totally different sound again.
