Matthew Seligman RIP
Apr 18, 2020, 09:57
Sadly the Soft Boys bassist has become another casualty of COVID-19. By all accounts a lovely guy, he played in recent years with friends of mine in Brighton, as well as Bowie, Thomas Dolby, Thompson Twins and many more. Thoughts with his wife and family. Kingdom of Love: an appropriate senyiment, and a great bassline.

Yes, I saw Robyn Hitchcock's online piece about him, earlier. He did Live Aid with Bowie in the band Thomas Dolby quickly assembled for the set.

This fuckin' virus. And the fuckin' idiots who let it in, in order to try and maintain commerce. I fuckin' despise them all.

My friend David (who's a drummer) knew him as well due to them sharing a rehearsal studio for quite a long time. AFAIK they never collaborated on anything official but they jammed a few times, and yes, he was indeed a lovely feller apparently.

There's a GoFundMe page set up by Thomas Dolby to raise money for his family here:
