While watching endless Time Team and Dad’s Army episodes, I refreshed my ears with that folk rock bassist Ashley Hutchings and his mates. I’ve gone for the years 1969-1974. That includes Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, Shirley Collins, the Albion Band, Sandy Denny and even odds like Al Stewart’s Love Chronicles. My favorite is still No Roses but I had to check that I wasn’t missing anything. I’m also formulating the theory that as Copey has stated, 1974 was a vintage year for music, things went quickly downhill 1975, 1976. Indeed this creative vacuum allowed punk to thrive. What a time It was to be a teenager!
