CB3 – Aeons. More Scandinavian instrumental heavy psych/prog. Makes all the right noises, and even sounds a bit like Hedvig Mollestad Trio in places, but ultimately not that exciting: https://cb3band.bandcamp.com/album/aeons Szun Waves – New Hymn To Freedom. Whoah, don’t think I gave this a proper listen when it came out in 2018, as it sounded pretty damn great this time round, like James Holden Vs The Comet Is Coming… https://szunwaves.bandcamp.com/album/new-hymn-to-freedom Grandaddy – The Sophtware Slump. Timeless classic. Radiohead – Kid A / Amnesiac. Not so much. But some fantastic tracks! Slowdive – Pygmalion / I’m The Elephant, U Are The Mouse OST / Catch The Breeze. If there’s any justice (which of course there isn’t, but anyway…) Pygmalion will one day been spoken of with the reverence it deserves: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2eujVjmIAA Broadcast – Microtronics vol 1 Husker Du – The Living End. Blimey, hadn’t heard this before. Gnarly and very very live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXrhGuGO3ZQ Tangerine Dream – Hyperborea Sonic Assassins – Queens Hall, Barnstaple, Dec 77 Kraftwerk – 2 Zombi – ‘Infinity’

Thanks for sharing, as always. Nice to see you mention Slowdive! I was a huge fan back in the early 90s, and liked the first three eps the best: morningrise, and the S/T one being the most outstanding to my ears. I tuned out during the pygmalion & souvlaki phase so on your recommendation I'll have to check 'em out. Have you heard their 2017 reunion self titled LP? I thought it was really good - sent me back to the good old shoegazing daze. Especially down with the Harry Smith artwork. Nice touch!

I'm actually writing something on Pygmalion, so have been revisiting all of their stuff - the 5EP stuff is also fascinating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmjitBDBCZw From what I'm heard, the new album is certainly very creditable.
