John Lennon - Rock And Roll John Lennon - Menlove Ave Elton John - Elton John (3LP Mexican comp covering 1969-1973) Scott Walker - The Moviegoer Scott Walker - Any Day Now Scott Walker - Stretch Scott Walker - We Had It All The Walker Brothers - No Regrets The Walker Brothers - Lines The Walker Brothers - Nite Flights Steve Winwood - Arc Of A Diver Bee Gees - 1st Bee Gees - Horizontal Orchestral Manœuvres In The Dark - Souvenir (box set) (listened to this on Spotify - the 90s singles actually sound pretty good now and there are some real gems among the previously unreleased tracks, but the mastering is terrible on the BBC Mermaid Theatre concert - flat mono sound when the original broadcast was in stereo. I checked my 2011 download from the iPlayer and it sounded much better. Someone screwed things up there). Pet Shop Boys - Alternative Pet Shop Boys - Format of Arrowe Hill - 1914-1918 The Kinks/Ray Davies - Arthur (BBC Radio 4 Drama) (this was very effective when the actors sang along to the original Kinks backing tracks, a device which should have been used more. Not so sure about Ray's newly rendered doo-wop versions, however). Cardiacs - Songs For Ships And Irons Cardiacs - A Little Man And A House And The Whole World Window The Apples In Stereo - Science Faire Black Sabbath - Technical Ecstasy The Beatles - Abbey Road (50th anniversary remix) (couldn't detect too much of a difference here, although I guess there is a smidgen more punch and clarity)

Karkara – Crystal Gazer. Heavy psych/space rock with a vaguely Eastern flavour from, err, France. Pretty good: https://karkara.bandcamp.com/album/crystal-gazer Jorja Chalmers – Human Again The Whirlings – Earthshine Humanfly – Live at the Brudenell, Leeds. Their last live show, still not entirely sure why they split, having just released the awesome Awesome Science: https://humanfly.bandcamp.com/album/humanfly-live-the-brudenell-leeds-31st-october-2013-final-show Twelfth Night – A Night To Remember: Live At The Barbican 2012 Boards Of Canada – Tomorrow’s Harvest The Prefects – Going Through The Motions. Never heard this before, horribly good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8SmFZBxXlo Lucifer Was – Underground And Beyond Monument – The First Monument

Mishmaoul – Natacha Atlas Strange Days – Natacha Atlas Mishmaoul is a fabulous album, one I really enjoy these days. Strange Days is the new one and finds Natacha in a more jazzy mood at tines. Ghosteen – Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds Starts off where Skeleton Tree left off. Not really a Bad Seeds album if you get what I mean, butt some real beauty here. Somebody's Knocking – Mark Lanegan Band Not as good as his last one (Gargoyle) which I thought was fabulous, but enjoying it all the same. Henry May Long – Max Richter So beautifully mournful. The Paralian – Andrew Wasylyk Definitely one of my albums of the year. Also... And Then...Along Comes – The Association Insight Out – The Association Birthday – The Association Ma – Devendra Banhart American Utopia – David Byrne John Balance Enters Valhalla – Julian Cope Gris-Gris – Dr John Return To The 37th Chamber – El Michels Affair Are You A Dreamer? - Death & Vanilla Further – Richard Hawley It-ness – Hox Lux Prima – Karen O / Dangermouse Self-Titled – Rose City Band Flamende Herzen - Michael Rother Cruelty Without Beauty – Soft Cell Rose, My Rocket-Brain (EP) – Stereolab Stratosphere – Tangerine Dream

A New discovery of mine, Spaceship - The Last Days. Has a German, synthy feel to it - Cluster maybe from the 70's. Great stuff Sons of Kemet - Your Queen is a reptile Sleaford Mods - English Tapas. Have liked the odd track previously but not for me Slaves - Sugar Coated Bitter Truth. Nearly worth a listen! Slint - S/T. Only a couple of tracks from 94 I think. In keeping with what I've heard before (mainly Spiderland) Shida Shahabi - Pretty in plums. Don't remember. I can tell you that I didn't delete it from my favourites after listening A lot of Bowie - The Man Who Sold the World, Hunky Dory, Low, Heroes, Outside. Eno and Bowie did such great work together on Outside - Bowie really augmenting Eno's production skills with what he brings to the table in his songwriting. Certainly sounds more vital than Eno solo albums of the 90's which were ok (I'm thinking Nerve Net and The Shutov Assembly)
