I've just noticed that Amazon (prime) have loads of cool music documentaries to view should you have said membership. This week I've binged on 'Every Everything', a fab Grant Hart piece, L7 - Pretend That You're Dead, another well put together programme (I'd forgotten how heavy these ladies were) and The Residents 'Theory of Obscurity' alongside one about the birth of 'Desert Rock' (soz forget he title) and one about the LA Hardcore scene of the 80's..all well worth a watch, and tonight viewing may be The Saints...Stranded. (Oh, check out The Boys too, great Watchnmen-esque tale of Deviant Superhero's etc...) Anyways...Music went Thusly L7 - Bricks Are Heavy, Hungry For Stink Nova Mob - Last Days Of Pompei/ All Of My Senses EP Residents - Duck Stab VA - Rough Trade Shops Rock and Roll Vol 1 Great 2CD collection of modern R 'n' R stormers. Dope - Black Math 13 does it fer me... kinda reminds me of Third Ear Band....groovy! Velvets - Best Of Queens Of The Stoneage - Songs For The Deaf Sabbath - Masters Of Reality Butthole Surfers - Weird Revolution Can - Future Days Billy Childish - Punk Rock Ist Nicht Tot Have a better One !

Time's Up – Buzzcocks The 1976 demo's featuring Devoto singing a number of songs that Shelley would later sing on the debut album. Raw but pretty darn essential. Miracle Kicker – Dark Captain Light Captain Really lovely. Preliminaires – Iggy Pop Apres – Iggy Pop The two French albums. Some tracks are even sung in French. Iggy's voice is deeper than the ocean. Rose, My Rocket-Brain (EP) - Stereolab Fab Four Suture – Stereolab I saw the re-formed Stereolab the other night in Manchester. Some great moments, especially Metronomic Underground which was spine-tingling. Laetitia seemed especially to enjoy herself. Also... The Next Day – David Bowie Licht – Brokmann/Bargmann Time's Up - Buzzcocks Sunday At Devil Dirt – Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan Two Seven's Clash (30th Anniversary Edition) - Culture 666 45 – Dope Return To The 37th Chamber – El Michels Affair Copy Copy – Gruppo Sportivo

I do love that Devoto 'Times Up' recording, a nice glimpse of what could have been had he stayed with the Buzzcocks (But then thinks of the horror, would we have had Magazine if he had???) Fer such a short guy, Iggy has an incredibly deep voice in his dotage, how long do you think it'll be till it drops off the bass end of the register and all we here is Iggy infrasound? Glad you enjoyed Stereolabs reunion. Whereas, I, stupidly bought a ticket for em' in Brum when I first head about the gigs, then promptly forgot about the date, so sadly missed em' :(

Oh yes indeedy. For me, 'Time's Up' is THE essential first wave punk LP, even more than 'Damned Damned Damned', 'The Clash' or 'Bollocks'. It has a low-fi punch and honesty that renders it a truly authentic document of 1976 and still sounds as fresh as a daisy forty-odd years on. And there are no thrills in the over-produced Buzzcocks product that followed quite as visceral as Pete Shelley's free form solo on 'Can't Control Myself'. That gives me shivers to this day. Every home should have one!
