Interesting development over at bandcamp.
Thom Yorke just made available 1.8 gigs worth of Radiohead recordings as a counter to having been hacked. 18 tracks for 18 pounds. All the proceeds are going to extinction rebellion.
As an article in GQ puts it: "The band released hours of hacked recordings rather than pay ransom money to the hacker who stole them"

I reckon they’re onto a winner with that pricing. No distribution costs etc. And I imagine the physical version will follow later.

I have my suspicions that this is more likely to be a good old fashioned publicity stunt rather than someone hacked their minidiscs and ransomed them. So many bands have so many leaks, extortion isn't really much of an option.
