FS, These Andras Schiff FS piano masterclasses + FS documentary (featuring Lieder etc.) might be of interest to you, so I thought I would post them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4R-qf6E7XI Absolutely wonderful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzTdpTHIgkc&t=2s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJKE-p2hNGE&t=1820s The masterclasses are so interesting - how Schiff finds every (FS and LvB) motif in the works, 'hidden' like gems or secret messages amongst so many notes; how he teases out more musical performances by identifying the 'horn', 'cello' etc., all to be communicated by pianist and piano alone.

Marianne Faithfull - Negative Capability Loving this, though sadly fer me, it does have the 'end of the road' vibe to many songs. Top track is 'They Come At Night'. Cracking lyrics and minimal Velvetsesque guitars. Have a listen...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RA0JLQ6TG44 Always thought she was more rock n roll than most rock n rollers. Did it all on her own terms, go Marianne! Circle - Alotus Cope - Discover Odin, Jehovahkill, Followers of St Julian Ode to Wan (Parts 1+2) This has been one of my fav' Cope compositions since I first heard it many moons ago. Great little play on words ditty. Ditto 'Warwick The Kingmaker', cracking song (was it named after the Ladybird book from my 'yoot'?) song ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXqEr7tOi_k book... https://www.arranalexander.co.uk/vintage-ladybird-book-warwick-the-kingmaker-history-series-561-first-edition-matte-hardback-1966-4902-p.asp Weirdly, both songs share a similar rhythmic metre, well they do to my ears :) Peel Dream Magazine - Modern Meta Physic A Lot like Stereolab (in a good way). Standout track fer me is 'Due To Advances In Modern Tourism'... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jg-bWJ-Tqd8 Watter - This World Zak Riles ex Grails latest ensemble. Some good stuff on this. V post rock, though some tracks have that alt. country vibe. Esp like 'Rustic Fog' and 'Seawater'. Album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBjoc9Nsp6I&list=PLZQotpncMsxONXpWqmWayIHS0KLSC_4Fs&index=5 Iggy Pop - Beat Em' Up Igz goes METAL in fairly enjoyable rock outs. V.I.P. always makes me laugh.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htYy6QqtIw0 Hawkwind - In Search of Space Prob my fav' Hawls album. 'We Took The Wrong Turn Years Ago' seem weirdly precient sentiment at the moment. Coil - Live Two. Great performance in Moscow. Esp love intro track 'Something'. Vid of show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRk4OQQ3_zQ Discharge - Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing From Captain Oi records 4 disc retrospective - Discharge 1980-85 - no argument, their best period hands down. Not listened to much this week. Hope you all have a better one!

Helicon – Zero Fucks EP. Scottish drone psychedelicists with a title that rather tempts fate. Not bad, but not amazing: https://fuzzclub.bandcamp.com/album/zero-fucks Craven Faults – ‘Tenter Ground’. These guys again – minimal techno with added guitar-based trippiness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYMMKfjHn08 Teeth Of The Sea – Wraith Hawklords – Brave New World Lorelle Meets The Obsolete – De Facto Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats – Wasteland Amgala Temple – Invisible Airships Motion Sickness Of Time Travel – Seeping Through The Veil Of The Unconscious Concretism – Town Planning EP Brian Eno – Discreet Music. Did my tax return to this.

Have watched the first ten mins or so of the first link. Looks excellent. I'll make time to look at these in detail over the next week or so. Thanks enormously for the gee up.

It is a balm for the soul to see such a wonderful musician pay such tender tribute to his favourite composer.

One of my faves of 2018. And Warwick The Kingmaker...I love that track. One of my fave Cope numbers ever!
