Hi, drudeawakening.

Here's several that come to mind that have stuck with me ever since Julian first reviewed them:

Tetragrammaton: "Elegy for Native Tongues"
Live, free form improvisation that reminds me of the Philip K. Dick quote "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away." The weaving and repetitive textures of this album elevate to a point where they collect and hold like a low pressure system.
And when it's over, you can go to sleep.

Nathaniel Mayer: "Why Don't You Give It To Me?"
Stellar offering from late in Mayer's life with soulfully grizzled vocals with great garage backing. Side two has a great live run-on of several songs that Julian accurately compared to another side two: Kim Fowley's OUTRAGEOUS (1968) album. (If you don't know it...get it.)

Death Comes Along: "Death Comes Along"
I second Citizensmurf's reply. This album is truly brilliant: absolutely insane, fucked up, cryptic, psychotic, psychedelic and every other adjective you can think of for a record that makes you feel like you're on drugs when you're straight and...dead when you're on drugs.

A.R. & Machines: "Echo"
A masterpiece. This double album expands time whenever I listen to it. Nearly the soundtrack of everything that's ever happened in human history, both known and unknown.

Boredoms: "Vision Creation Newsun"
Disorienting, inspiring, energetic, wild and at points blissfully simple, this album stands up all these long years since I first bought it a day after I first read Julian's review...November 2001?!!

Furze: "Sathanas' Megalomania" (off the "Necromanzee Cogent" album)
Julian wrote about this in his NEFARIOUS ARTISTS custom compilation review.
Hectic metal that makes you wonder what's going on for 23 minutes.

Hope this helps.

Wow, thanks so much for your response and your always-excellent reviews. Lots to go on there. And I agree about ‘Death Comes Along’. It’s immense!!

Hey! Thanks for your kind offer. I just managed to secure myself a copy of this, weirdly, mere days after my original post so definitely looking forward to getting it. Collecting Earthquakes is a damn fine record and I’m looking forward to hearing more of the same.

Nudity are great! I love Winter I’m Red. Sadly missed out on the copy Copey offloaded. Got it downloaded though. They released a 2-disc collection of their releases. Wouldn’t mind picking that jo

Concur with the Boredoms VCNS, stunning recording which just gets better the more you listen (great for walking/hiking/and in yer head time). Was luck enough to see em' do this live with 5 drummers, was one of the most life affirming and elevating live musical moments I've been lucky enough to see. VCNS (full) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdPCt5ZEf40

Faves of my own include...

Oneida - Each One Teach One
This one launched a mad affair with all things Oneida for me. The
track 'Sheets of Easter's endless repetition will drive you mad or you'll love it. Fer a while, it was my (back then) 5 year olds fav bedtime track????? My fav track is Antibiotics, a relentless organ driven builder of a stomper. The following are piss poor quality rips, but you get the idea...
Antbiotics - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_Gcya3d5MU
People of the North (version) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpfA5v4Vcow
Sheets of Easter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT26L1vtgkE

Acid Mothers Temple - La Novia
I think this was an AOTM, but don't quote me on that. Beautiful folk tinged AMT wig out. La Novia - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28IlBe9GqXU

Heads - At Last
Great live in the studio psyched out fuzzfest.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heads_(British_band)
https://www.discogs.com/The-Heads-At-Last/release/2756564
Another live album by the band 'Under The Stress Of A Headlong Dive' is even more relentless.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slsjebiA2RA&list=PL5PD1jk-Oy8c6EFHP7xneiFS-4O_vbYv8
(There is a cheap copy of the later fer sale on ebay...minus the cover £2.17 plus P+P https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CD-ONLY-ARTWORK-MISSING-Heads-Under-the-Stress-of-a-Headlong-Dive/192480202546?epid=55135254&hash=item2cd0b6cf32:g:yogAAOxyXzxTGr7y:rk:6:pf:0 )

Simply Saucer - Cyborgs Revisted
Great Velvets meets Stooges influenced garage crank up.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rqNal6HLxw

German Oak - German Oak
Recorded in a German WWII bunker apparently, but don't let that put you off. Loose lofi almost Hendrixian in parts Krauty jams, now expanded to a 3CD edition. The original guy who put this out put a load of excerpts of nazi speeches an various points of the record the band didn't really appreciate. New edition does NOT include those.
(Old edition) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csknfd1NXGE

Sand - Golem
In many ways, this and German Oak are almost sister acts, though this has a but more pastoral loveliness to it. Think it has been given a 'proper' release these days, as my copy was put out by Current 93 on CD, mastered from a very good quality vinyl edition.

Hi, Monganaught. I managed to grab the German Oak cd recently and I’m impressed. I may have to double dip on the 3CD version. Mind you, apparently the edition I get is an unofficial release anyway. Still professionally done, though and sounds good

The three CD edition was put out with the bands blessing (though I gather from the short interview in the booklet, they didn't mind too much about the 'boot' edition as they never expected to have a record out anyway). It was some record club that put out the 3CD edition, but it's available on discogs and elsewhere fairly cheaply. Was lucky enough to pick up an ex review edition fer about 8 quid. Parts of the German Oak sound kinda reminds me of bits of Copes DOPE releases. Dunno if that's intentional or just a happy accident on Copes part.

To me, the AOTM's, Drudions AND The Mighty Book Of Seth have been pretty much full of inspiring artists and excellent albums, write-ups etc. Even though would it have been something I was already aware of. But there's so much to discover!

I'd say that it's worth it to go through it ALL!
