Website says it's 10 minute walk, so a 20 min stagger.

Although Croydon does also boast a 'Black Sheep Bar'!

Just seen that on the map on the website, just round the corner too!

The Green Dragon looks favourite, the Black Sheep is aptly named but its a members only venue, fingerprinting on the door, not the place for a sly pint methinks.

I agree. The phrase "we always have Dark Star Hogs Head Ale on tap" on the Green Dragon website is the clincher in my opinion.

Would have to recommend The Ship, which is just around the corner (walk past venue, turn left)...a bit more HH than the Green Dragon, I would have thought...

Can't believe I have to miss this one! on me bloody doorstep an' all.

Blurb from The Ship's myspace page:

The Ship is a small pub in the middle of Croydon and a true Croydon landmark, having been virtually unchanged for the better part of nearly a century.

A retreat from the usual trendy, fluorescent lit, sticky-floored, chav-infested bars that you'd normally find in Croydonia, The Ship is what you'd call an "alternative" pub, but the nights range from swing through to 80s to punk to classic rock to good, honest heavy metal. Not to mention the frequent live music nights and Battle of the Bands competitions.

Aside from the music, The Ship offers real ales like Hobgoblin, Forty Niner and Brakespear Bitter.

BTW. We Got Tickets "tickets left" thing is only an indication of where they are with their current allocation.

Got mine.

Better get looking at transport...
