Could anyone burn me a copy of Equal But Different: BBC Sessions 1979-83 by the Au Pairs if you have it? I'd be eternally grateful if anyone could help me out. Cheers.

Not got the album your after, but just spotted this on the Blast First website... There seems to be some confusion on dates, their home page suggests a October 2010 release, and the cover image has 1983 as the year of recording. http://www.blastfirstpetite.com/au-pairs.html AU PAIRS “Live 19/2/1987 “ DVD PTYT 038 Release date TBC Year: 1983 Month: 02 Day: 17 Location: Markthalle Hamburg Au Pairs Jane Munro - bass Lesley Woods - vocals, guitar Paul Foad - guitar, backing vocals Peter Hammond - drums, percussion with Chris Lee -trumpet Keith Knowles - synthesizer. 01 America (4'55'') 02 Sex Without Stress (4'35'') 03 Beast Of A Machine I (4'10'') 04 Set Up (4'10'') 05 Decadent Today (5'40'') 06 She Runs With Honey I (7'10'') 07 Inconvenience (3'25'') 08 Intact (3'00'') 09 Lion Love (4'10'') 10 Headache (5'45'') 11 Stepping Out Of Line (5'25'') 12 It’s Obvious (6'10'') 13 Immer Nach Einem Führer Suchen (2'45'') 14 Leave The Driving To Us (4'00'') 15 Beast Of A Machine II (4'10'') 16 Runs With Honey II (7'00'')

Sorry, I thought you were advertising for someone to come round and clean your flat, babysit your children and have an affair with your partner. I'm still available, though.

No kids, no partner, but the place could do with a spring clean...

A great band. There was a good, healthy post-punk thing going on in Brum that spawned a different kind of sound, for a while. Reggae guitars and rhythms often seemed to be in the mix. My favourite of the bunch though were Dangerous Girls. http://www.dangerousgirls.co.uk/

Will have to dig it out of the attic - that were a bloody good single!

I saw some fantastic gigs by them. That guitarist Beetmoll was awesome. I've got the 'Taaga' EP, 'Man In The Glass' and the single 'Dangerous Girls', which I reckon, was their best song.

That title was such an obvious set-up for a joke, wish I'd thought of it first. :-D Au Pairs are indeed one of the best bands from that "post punk" era -- they even remind me of VDGG a little bit! (Midtempo songs, sound dominated by sax & electric keys with expressionistic/philosophical singing.)
