Yahowha Book

Finished the Yahowha book, It's fascinating and would recommend it to anyone with an interest in Hippies, Spiritualism, Communes, etc. The writing was a little stilted to start with but give it time and it begins to flow .

I didn't actually READ it all, (couldn't get it out of my husband's hands to do so) but I did scan lots of paragraphs and saw the photos.

It looked to be fascinating, and when we were in LA recently, we saw the site of where the restaurant was.

Perhaps I'll have a closer look.

Oooh! I didn't even know there was one - or if i did it meandered right on out of my memory! I'll have to track it down.

Does it reveal the truth of Sky Saxon's recorded involvement with Father Yod?

Got a copy of the book. Recently saw Ya Ho Wa 13 here with Sky Saxon opening. (Don Bolles was playing bass for SS, by the way..)_

Happy to say Ya HO Wa 13 put on a good show, much better than I thought it would be. Good jams.

Sky Saxon's Yahowha recordings
Dec 15, 2007, 13:24
From my understanding, Sky was never living long term with the Source Family, but would come and go as he felt. He did record some music with the family during the time it was together, though. About half of that appeared on the boxset - The Yodship album, 3 0r 4 songs off the Fire, Water Air "Golden Sunrise" album (the best songs) and 1 track on the Unreleased Materials CD on the boxset. Also on the boxset there was a CD called "Related Singles", and while these songs have Sky mentioning Yahowha on them, they were recorded in the late 70's early 80's after the family disbanded and don't feature any family members.
Since the boxset, some other Sky-related Yahowha material has been rediscovered. These are the Yodship suite 3 1-sided record, the Lover's Cosmic Voyage mini-l.p., and side two of Masters of Pyschedelia. All of this was recorded in the 70's during Sky's time with the source family. It is possible there were other releases that have not shown up yet, and that Sky has forgotten about. It seems Sky himself doesn't even have copies of, or even remember, all his recordings!
