Electric Manchakou anyone?
Jun 21, 2006, 13:33
This was a great album of the month, however it's impossible to track down (some EPs are available but not the full album). Couldn't find it on soulseek either... does anyone actually have a copy?

18 years too late, but.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNgcMrxCyvk has the full AOTM.

Been diving into this one, as I have the recent-ish comp on Mémoire Neuve.

https://www.discogs.com/release/3248254-Electric-Manchakou-Electric-Manchakou

It has everything on the AOTM, expect for two tracks* ("Sexy Sucky" and "Cripple Death Dwarf Must Pay"), which is too bad as Cripple Death is my favourite track.

The weird thing is it almost sounds like a different band from a different era. Very Monoshock in it's vocals 10 feet back from the mike approach, and that synth which doesn't appear on any other tracks. Also, the singer sounds different.

Not sure where this outlier came from, or if Spirit of Punk ever released anything else.

Also, fun fact, Brain Donor did a cover of "Murder" for their Thekla show, with revised lyrics.

*"Sudden Bummer" and "Fucking With Four Eyes" are titled "N'tselfik" and "She's Insane" on the Mémoire Neuve comp.
