Yeah, I suspect so, what little I've heard of these guys is twiddling around very fast.
Another one for me is Mark King, "oh what a great bass player", I would say "what a boring f**k"

Now, bass players is a whole nuther thing IMO.
Bass in most instances is a case of less is more. I think Roger Waters is a great bass player 'cos he plays a counterpoint to the main melody. Mark King sounds like he picked up a 4-string instead of a 6-string by mistake & now he can't let go!

Manic Street Preachers - fuckin awful, pretentious, hypocritical nonsense
Oasis - redundant, unimaginative, dull, dull, dull - and, incredibly, still pointlessly arrogant
Supertramp - that whining voice, I suppose the natural antecedents to Keane
Queen - camp but strangely conservative and beloved of beered-up rugby club types.

What about JJ Burnell? It's very raw, but not as easy as some make it out to be.
If I was a girl I would fancy him just on the strenghth of his bass playing!
